Chandler looks to hire consulting firm to chart Airpark growth, development

The city of Chandler is looking to award a new contract to Phoenix-based PLAN*et Communities to help gauge the future land use and development of the Chandler Airpark Area.

The Chandler City Council is scheduled today to consider a $164,975 contract for PLAN*et to update the 20-year area plan for the Airpark area. The contract calls on the Phoenix-based consulting firm to conduct focus group meetings and other community outreach as well as to do economic development and transportation analyses for the Airpark area.

The Chandler Airpark located east of McQueen Road and south of the Loop 202 in the East Valley. The area is anchored by the Chandler Municipal Airport. FedEx, Liberty Mutual Insurance, Offerpad and Cardinal Health already have operations in the Airpark area. Insight Enterprises is also slated to move its corporate headquarters to the Chandler Airpark area later this year.
