More industrial space planned near Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport

By Mike Sunnucks | Rose Law Group Reporter

The city of Mesa is considering plans for a new 7-building. 525,000-square-foot industrial park near Phoenix Mesa Gateway Airport.

The Mesa Planning Commission will take a look at plans tomorrow from Marwest Enterprises LLC / San Tan 74 LLC for the third phase of The Landing development. The project is on vacant land near Ray and Hawes Road in the East Valley. It is adjacent to the two previous phases of the development.

The developers are asking for Mesa to approve a special use permit to decrease parking at the new development.

Current zoning requires 1,137 parking spaces at the project. The developers want to reduce that number by 395 spots down to 742 spaces, according to city documents.

City staff has noted that a similar parking reducing was approved for the first phase of The Landing development and has not caused any issues.
