Multifamily, offices, urban market proposed in southern Scottsdale

By Mike Sunnucks | Rose Law Group Reporter

A new multifamily residential development with a neighborhood urban market and café is being proposed in Scottsdale at McDowell Road and 70th Street.

The 4.7-acre parcel is currently home to the Scottsdale Christian Church and Berghoff Design Group, a landscaping company.

The proposed Southdale project will also house corporate offices for the Hawkins Companies, which is redeveloping the property.

Hawkins has submitted plans with the city of Scottsdale and is asking the property to be rezoned from commercial to a ‘planned unit development’.

Plans call for 267 multifamily residential units, corporate office space for Hawkins Companies and an urban market and café concept.

The property is west of Scottsdale and McDowell Roads, the Papago Plaza redevelopment and the ASU SkySong Center development.
