Gilbert hosting community ‘listening sessions.’

By Mike Sunnucks | Rose Law Group Reporter

The town of Gilbert is hosting a series of ‘listening sessions’ to talk to residents, business owners and others in the community about race and policing.

A community event will be held tonight at Gilbert High School at 6:30 p.m.

The Gilbert Police, school districts and city staff have also created a ‘listening space’ program in the downtown area where residents can come talk about concerns regarding racism and police reforms.

That program allows residents and business owners to set up appointments on Thursday as well as June 16th and June 18th at the Gilbert Community Center in downtown Gilbert. Online appointments are also available through the program.

A Black Lives Matter / George Floyd rally was held in downtown Gilbert on Saturday.
