Chandler eyes First Mile, Last Mile program with Lyft

The city of Chandler is looking at launching a pilot program with Lyft to offer discounted rides to and from bus stops via a ‘First-Mile, Last-Mile Program’.

The Chandler City Council is looking at a $49,000 pilot program where the city would pay 50 percent for Lyft rides for transit riders headed to from bus stops south of Pecos Road.

The goal is to encourage more transit use in south Chandler, south of Pecos Road.

The pilot effort with Lyft would run from September 1st to the end of next August.

Southern areas of Chandler has seen new developments and growth and the aim to offer transit options to residents and workers in the area.
