The Gilbert Town Council will consider some changes to plans for a 40-unit townhouse development near Gilbert Road and Civic Center Drive.

Gilbert approved plans from Mesa-based Porter Kyle Builders for The Carson in April. The land was rezoned for the luxury townhouse project in April. The 2.85-acre site was previously zoned for retail.

Original plans called for landscaping and setbacks along an adjacent parcel owned Salt River Project. But a deal between the builder and SRP is not happening.

That is requiring some buildings, community amenities and designs for The Carson to be changed. And that is requiring the builder to resubmit plans to Gilbert.

The Town Council will consider the changes at its Tuesday meeting.
