Buckeye mayor honored as Distinguished Public Official

Chalk up another award for Buckeye Mayor Jackie Meck: The Arizona Chapter of the American Planning Association named him the 2020 Distinguished Public Official.

According to the city of Buckeye, “Meck was nominated for his long list of accomplishments in planning for the future of Buckeye, the West Valley and throughout Arizona, while balancing natural resources and environmental habitats.”

A Buckeye native, Meck was reelected to his third consecutive term in 2016, and previously served as Buckeye mayor from 1973 to 1975 and as a Buckeye council member from 1968 to 1975.
