New Buckeye mayor wants to take down neighborhood silos

When Eric Orsborn moved to Buckeye 17 years ago, he rarely stepped foot outside his manicured neighborhood north of the interstate.

Things changed when he was elected to the City Council in 2011. He started exploring the city more, seeing beyond his separated neighborhood.

Today, Orsborn is the mayor — the city’s first new one in 12 years.

He replaced former mayor and longtime Buckeye staple, Jackie Meck, 78, in November.
