Tohono O’odham Nation takes steps for new casino

The Tohono O’odham Nation is planning to build another casino adjacent to Glendale, and to make it happen the city will pull itself out of a pre-annexation development agreement to release the land in question.

The City Council this month voted to terminate a pre-annexation development agreement for 110 acres at the southeast corner of the Northern Parkway and Loop 303. The agreement was first filed with the Maricopa County Recorder in October 2012 under former Mayor Elaine Scruggs.

The land, in Maricopa County adjacent to the city, is currently owned by Saguaro Land Holdings and was previously owned by Northern Parkway Investors LLC.
