SB1379 not good enough for Scottsdale, PV officials

Arizona legislators voted down Senate Bill 1379 on April 1 as some lawmakers cited a need for more than a “Band-Aid” to address short-term rental nuisances.

Senate Bill 1379 received a vote of 17-43 in the Arizona House of Representatives. The vote came as local leaders unsuccessfully attempted to reach a compromise with amendments sought to strengthen the bill.

Scottsdale and Paradise Valley representatives were among those who publicly gave their reasoning for voting no on SB 1379. The main theme: It just wasn’t good enough.
