Southdale, hotel redevelopment plans submitted in Scottsdale

Plans have been submitted with the city of Scottsdale for the Southdale development at McDowell Road and 70th Street.
The site is currently occupied by Scottsdale Christian Church and Berghoff Design Group (a landscaping company).

Hawkins Company is looking to redevelop the 3.8 acre property into 267 apartments units along with the neighborhood urban market and cafe.

Hawkins, a real estate development firm, will also house corporate offices at the project which entails development of a 293,900-square-foot building.

There are other redevelopment plans also in the works in Scottsdale.

Plans have been submitted to the city to convert a 114-room hotel into apartments.

Sterling Real Estate Partners has plans to convert the Homewood Suites by Hilton hotel at 9880 North Scottsdale Road in apartments.

The proposal also asks for a Multiple-Family Residential zoning.

The property on Scottsdale Road near Mountain View Road. It totals 4.53 acres.

Plans call for conversion of the 3-story hotel into 85 apartment units. The developers also want to install a new trash compactor for the multifamily project.

Vertical Design Studios and Design Ethic are providing design and architectural services for the redevelopment, according to plans submitted with the city.
