Eloy will allow groups to pay for their own water rights

By Maria Vasquez | Pinal Central

ELOY — The city of Eloy will no longer pay for water rights based on projected growth but instead will allow large landowners to pick up the tab to assure their supply when their property is developed.

The city will share its annual membership dues to the Central Arizona Groundwater Replenishment District with Linmark LLC and Musulin Irrevocable Education Trust after the City Council approved a memorandum of understanding this week.

The city maintains a designation of assured water supply for its municipal water service and planning area and is required to pay annual membership dues to the CAGRD for its assured water supply.
