Relief and a sense of calm filled the face of a former Afghan interpreter who met with reporters Tuesday after he faced turmoil while departing a Kabul airport in August.
The man, identified as Zabi, was one of thousands fleeing Kabul as Afghans seek to get out of the country taken over by the Taliban.
Zabi and Darius Amiri, a Scottsdale immigration attorney, met with reporters in Scottsdale after the attorney helped the 30-year-old escape into U.S. custody and away from the Taliban.
