Florence amassing water credits for future sustainability

FLORENCE — The town now has more than 30,000 acre-feet of water credits “and that’s a very exciting thing,” Town Manager Brent Billingsley told the Town Council Monday. “Florence is in an excellent position for water sustainability going forward.”

The council voted Monday to buy 4,990 credits, for $93.30 each, from Greenstone Water Credits at a cost of $465,567. The expense was budgeted in this year’s water fund.
