Vacant Mesa parcel eyed for development

By Mike Sunnucks | Rose Law Group Reporter

An effort to develop vacant land near Power Road and McKellips Road took a step forward after gaining rezoning approvals from the Mesa Planning and Zoning Board Jan 12.

The Mesa board approved rezoning 2.3 acres of land from Residential 35 to Limited Commercial.

The move will allow for potential development of a retail and commercial center.

The land is owned by Arizona Agribusiness and Equine Center Inc.

Arizona Corporation Commission records list Linda Proctor Downing, Irene Rassi and Pam Burns as the corporate managers of that group.

The parcel eyed for development is adjacent to a private school, according to city records.

The rezoning moves next to the Mesa City Council.
