Paul Gosar, Wendy Rogers, white nationalism keep Arizona in the news. It’s not a good look

Arizona State Senator Wendy Rogers gives a speech ahead of former President Donald Trump’s speech in Florence on Saturday, Jan.The antics of U.S. Rep. Paul Gosar and Arizona state Sen. Wendy Rogers are well known and well documented in Arizona. Their embrace of white nationalists is just the start. 

When Rogers told the white nationalist America First Political Action Conference that we should “build more gallows” for political enemies — and the group’s members cheered — that was naturally going to garner headlines.

But these two clowns are no longer Arizona’s own. Judging by increasing national media coverage, they are now America’s clowns — and America’s burden. 

For instance, a Washington Post story headlined “Arizona lawmaker speaks to white nationalists, calls for violence — and sets fundraising records” was the paper’s most-read story online for much of the day Tuesday. Rogers has “emerged as a dividing line for the GOP in Arizona and beyond,” the story says.
