By Joey Chenoweth | Pinal Central

MARICOPA — After more than a decade in the position, Maricopa Mayor Christian Price is stepping down on July 1 to take a leadership role on a local economic development agency.

Price announced on Facebook Thursday that he accepted an offer from the Maricopa Economic Development Alliance to become their new president and CEO. The effective date of his resignation will be July 1.

With MEDA, Price said he saw an opportunity to continue doing the same things he has been as mayor, only in a different capacity. He said in his letter to the community that his new position will be focused on helping Maricopa grow and thrive, just as it was as mayor.
