Developer withdraws housing proposal in Peoria

It appears residents have won a fight against a housing community proposed near their neighborhood.

The property, located at 67th and Thunderbird avenues, has struggled to develop over the years, and the applicant has withdrawn the most recent proposal.

In a letter dated Aug. 22, 2022, sent to the city of Peoria, zoning attorney Wendy Riddell, who represents applicant K. Hovnanian, withdrew the two cases associated with the property. She did not state specific reasons for the withdrawal.
