Commission moves forward with Maricopa Commerce Center

By Kimlye Stager | Pinal Central

MARICOPA — The Maricopa Planning and Zoning Commission on Monday gave its stamp of approval to provide the city with more much-needed commercial space.

This request for the new Maricopa Commerce Center was made by Alpine Development Partners for the review and approval of the general plan amendment for 1.69 acres from high density residential to employment and the rezoning of 3.61 acres from general business to general commercial.

The site is located south of the southeast corner of West Honeycutt and North Porter roads.

It was brought up to change it to the current zoning code from Pinal County’s pre-existing language to the city of Maricopa’s.

The applicant is looking to place two new buildings that are multi-tenant as shown in the conceptual site plan for context. The final site plan will be presented later under the development review permit.
