AGD moves forward with planning for Winslow redevelopment

(Disclosure: Rose Law Group represents Atlas Global Development.)

This month’s Good Morning Winslow networking event was hosted by Atlas Global Development (AGD), the master developers looking to turn Winslow into a major manufacturing and logistics hub for rail, air, and shipments on I-40.

Dan Lupien’s plan, which would functionally build a new town on top of the current Winslow, could have the first shovels in the ground in around eight months, says Lupien. The first part of the plan would include housing for workers as the labor force of the area would have to dramatically increase in order to accommodate manufacturing companies that Lupien expects to set up shop in Winslow once the project is completed.

In order to achieve AGD’s plans, every public and private service would have to beef up their resources to accommodate, which means a new water treatment plant and a new power generation plant because APS cannot meet the demand for power on AGD’s time frame, as well as building on existing infrastructure for gas, sewer, and broadband internet. Not to mention the increased stress on the hospital, schools, and police and fire departments.
