CASA GRANDE — The Casa Grande Fire Department will have a new station after the City Council unanimously voted to approve the building at Pinal Avenue and Rodeo Road.
Fire Station 503 will cost $11.5 million, and the groundbreaking is planned in November. It replaces a now-closed station in a portable building at Casa Grande Municipal Airport. Crews have been operating at other stations.
The 14,000-square-foot station will comprise four bays and will include a designated ambulance barn. The single-story building will feature sleeping quarters for 10 firefighters, a large kitchen, dining area, training room, biohazard room, laundry, fitness room, secured parking area, public parking area and office/workspaces for crews. A helipad has also been proposed to be included in the plan.
