Buckeye building new comms center

The Buckeye Police Department is investing in the future, as it recently broke ground on a new 911 Communications Center. In addition, the department has also unveiled plans to implement a real-time crime center, creating more efficient and effective policing in the area.

“The city of Buckeye is growing at a rapid pace, and we want to make sure that our police department is pacing with that growth so that we can continue to ensure a high standard of service today and tomorrow and for many years to come,” said Carissa Planalp, public information officer for the Buckeye Police Department.

The new facility will stand on 12,000 square feet in Downtown Buckeye, becoming a part of a shared area of police-related buildings — an evidence center and training facility. The $16 million investment in the city’s policing will alleviate the volume of calls the department receives daily and create an overall safer environment for Buckeye.
