Google Fiber construction starts in Tempe

The city of Tempe is set to become the fourth Valley city with access to Google Fiber high-speed internet service.

The service, also known as GFiber, will be available to homes and businesses with an assortment of different plans to choose from, with upload and download speeds ranging from 1 to 8 gigabits per second. The cheapest plan is available for $70 per month.

“Google Fiber is a perfect match for Tempe, I am proud of the work that’s been accomplished to bring it to our community,” Tempe Councilmember Randy Keating said in a press release. Keating has worked since 2017 to bring Google Fiber to the city.
