Tesla taps Arizona power source

Tesla has inked a deal to buy a massive amount of power from a solar plant with battery energy storage systems currently underway in Mohave County.

The Austin, Texas-based electric vehicle maker is planning to purchase 1 terawatt hour per year of renewable energy – or about 90% of the power generated at the plant – from London-based ContourGlobal, a global private energy firm behind the development, dubbed Project Sterling.
