Mesa assisted living development seeks extension

By Mike Sunnucks | Rose Law Group Reporter

The city of Mesa is being asked to extend a previously approved development deal for a planned assisted living center near Main Street and Power Road.

ARC One Associates is requesting a two-year extension for a development deal with the city for the proposed 23,492-square-foot, two-story facility.

Mesa approved a development deal for the project in December 2018 including allowing deviations to usual landscaping and setback requirements. The property is undeveloped.

The agreement expires on Dec. 3 and the developer is asking for a two-year extension.

The proposal goes before Mesa’s Board of Adjustment on Dec. 2.

The developer cites the impacts of COVID-19 as one of the reasons for asking for the extension.

A number of developers across the Valley and country have been making similar requests as the pandemic impacts economic conditions.
