Diamondbacks, Caesars bringing mobile betting, sportsbook to Phoenix

By Emily Horos | Arizona Republic

The Arizona Diamondbacks and Caesars Entertainment announced a partnership on Thursday to launch mobile sports betting in Arizona and build a sportsbook in the plaza adjacent to Chase Field.

The deal grants Caesars mobile sports betting market access and exclusive sponsorship in sports betting for the Diamondbacks. The agreement is part of a multiyear deal with Major League Baseball to make Caesars on authorized gaming operator for the league.

“We went through a thorough process to identify the ideal partner that would bring experience and the strongest reputations in legalized gaming,” Diamondbacks President and CEO Derrick Hall said in a press release. “Caesars is considered the cream of the crop and aligns with our philosophy when it comes to professionalism, brand presentation, and customer treatment.”

The partnership is made possible by the legalization of sports betting in Arizona. Gov. Doug Ducey signed bills last month that allow for expansion of tribal casinos in the state and the addition of sports betting at existing sports-related locations in Arizona.
