Cholla Trail, which leads hikers up to the summit of Camelback Mountain soon will have a new entry point, city of Phoenix officials say, prompting concern from some nearby homeowners.
Those homeowners, who abut the mountain and Phoenician golf course, say little information has been disclosed about the trail relocation. They cite concerns about safety and unintended consequences regarding the trailhead move.
Zoning attorneys apart of the development underway at the Phoenician resort, however, say communication has been had between all entities.
Cholla Trail can often attract more than 10,000 hikers per month, Phoenix officials say, one time recording 11,000 in one week.
