The Surprise Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously approved two site plans during its Jan. 20 meeting that will help fill in some of the city’s commercial gaps.
One motion approved the site plan for a new AutoZone store at an 1.34-acre parcel on the southwest corner of Bell Road and Loop 303, just north of Abrazo Surpriise Hospital and the Surprise Farms neighborhood.
It will be a 6,815-square-foot building with 31 parking spaces provided.
Commissioner Matthew Keating asked if when when AutoZone is built its height will take away from the visibility of the existing monument signs for nearby businesses.
