The winning candidates of Paradise Valley’s primary election are eager and looking forward to the 2023 term, which begins in January.

In the Aug. 2 primary election, Mayor Jerry Bien-Willner won his race against councilmember Julie Pace, with 60% of voters electing him to a third term.

Additionally, voters reelected councilmembers Ellen Andeen and Anna Thomasson, who is currently serving as vice mayor, to second terms; and voters elected town resident Christine Labelle to serve her first term.

Final voter tallies show Thomasson received 32% of votes; Andeen received 28% of votes; and Labelle received 26% of votes.

The councilmembers will serve four year terms, 2023-26, while Bien-Willner’s mayoral term is two years, 2023-24.

After months of campaigning, the victors have the election behind them and can look forward to the work ahead. The Independent reached out to the four winning candidates to ask how election night went for them, what they’re looking forward to and their opinion on the biggest issue for 2023 when they begin their terms.
