Pinal Partnership tackles real estate challenges in county; Rose Law Group Founder & President Jordan Rose moderates discussion

By David Church | Pinal Central

With inflation and other market challenges at the forefront of the real estate industry, the Pinal Partnership organization Friday hosted a panel of county leaders and local builders to discuss how they view the market going forward.

Moderated by Jordan Rose of Rose Law Group, the panel included Vice President Matthew McCormick of Saint Holdings; Project Director Ryan Ash of Vestar; Pinal County Specialist Kirk McCarville of Land Advisors; Vice President of Lot Acquisition Alisa Schroder of Century Complete; and Chris Grogan of El Dorado Holdings.

Topics discussed at the meeting included both residential and commercial real estate and how different market challenges have changed the landscape of the market in the county.

With the rise of online shopping forcing shopping center developers to adapt to a new environment, Ash spoke about what Vestar is doing with future shopping malls and similar areas.

“Retail has changed a lot, and prototypes have changed a lot,” Ash said. “The trend in our industry was definitely going toward that mixed-use entertainment center component, but COVID-19 really changed that.

“Having said that, things are starting to come around. I think as people work from home more, there is even more of a want to come out to these outdoor shopping centers, be a part of the community, so I think creating that destination is going to continue to be a trend.”
