The four candidates vying in a March runoff election for two spots on the Phoenix City Council have raised a combined $1.2 million this election cycle, with more than half going to one candidate.
More than $300,000 was raised between the end of October to the end of December by the four candidates, according to the most recent campaign finance reports, which candidates had to file by Jan. 17.
Kevin Robinson, a longtime former employee of the Phoenix Police Department, has raised more than the three other candidates combined and almost five times as much as his direct challenger, Sam Stone.
Mayor Kate Gallego endorsed Robinson and has solicited donations on his behalf. His donors come from across the political spectrum and include prominent Arizona business leaders. Robinson and Stone are competing to replace outgoing Councilmember Sal DiCiccio in District 6, which includes parts of north central Phoenix, Arcadia, the Biltmore area and Ahwatukee.
