The Headwaters Residential Healthcare Facility cleared its last administrative hurdle before development can begin when the Scottsdale Development Review Board voted unanimously on May 2 to approve the aesthetics of the age 55-and-over independent living facility earmarked for a 6.7-acre parcel at 13870 N. Frank Lloyd Wright Blvd.
The board voted 6-0 to approve the look of the buildings with the stipulation that the developer work with city staff to try and add shade to the top floor of the four three-story buildings planned for the site.
There will also be five single-story duplexes on the property as well for a total of 171 living units.
The property has sat vacant for the last 50 years.
The facility will be next to the Belmont Village Scottsdale Residential Healthcare Facility, which provides assisted living and memory care, for a continuum of care.
