Phoenix repurposing old Kmart

The city of Phoenix will break ground on a new $43.5 million project to create a workforce and education center on Wednesday.

The groundbreaking ceremony sets Innovation 27 on track to be completed in the summer of 2026.

Upon completion, it will provide services for jobseekers of all ages at the northwest corner of 27th and Northern avenues.
