Storage project proposed in Gilbert

An entity tied to Wentworth Property Co. purchased a former 24-Hour Fitness commercial property in Gilbert for $4 million on May 21, according to commercial real-estate website vizzda.com.

The site at the southeast corner of Val Vista Drive and Elliot Road, acquired from AVG Partners, includes a 36,779-square-foot vacant gym built in 2002 on approximately 4.51 acres. The property is zoned for commercial use under the town’s shopping center designation.
