Attorney General Kris Mayes highlighted her office’s efforts to curb medical misconduct by announcing more than 40 indictments today with charges ranging from fraudulent Medicaid billing to manslaughter.
Mayes disclosed 42 indictments across nine cases and provided an update on the sentencing of one suspect in the sober living homes scandal. She credited the Attorney General’s Office’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit for investigating the cases and bringing forth charges.
“The sober living home scandal has received a lot of attention, and for good reason. But my healthcare fraud section focuses on much more day in and day out, and the charges that we are announcing today span a range of alleged criminal conduct,” Mayes said.
