As gestures go, Gilbert Town Council’s rejection of a federal grant is on a par with thumbing your nose at the mirror.
But Mesa, Chandler and other Arizona cities might send a “thank you” note. They’ll get the money Gilbert doesn’t want.
It isn’t much. But every little bit helps these days.
Except in Gilbert, where the ideology of elected officials apparently trumps community need.
