Gilbert’s Agritopia ready for its national TV closeup

Amid Thanksgiving turkey, stuffing and football, you might want to leave room for a side of Gilbert.

NBC Nightly News is serving up a slice of Agritopia, the farming-based community in the Southeast Valley suburb. The segment is scheduled to air during the 5:30 p.m. Thursday broadcast on Channel 12 (KPNX-TV).

Agritopia is well known locally for having more chickens than HOA board members. And this is not the village’s first appearance on the national stage. The New York Times fired up a story in March.
