Mesa voters this November could be asked to approve a quarter-cent sales-tax hike
City finance officials say the increase would generate $24 million a year to meet growing public-safety and higher-education demands
The hike would boost the city sales-tax rate from 1.75 to 2 percent
The council will decide whether to put the issue on the Nov. 8 ballot at its June 20 meeting.
