Mesa City Council has project hearing set for Aug. 27

A developer is looking to bring a major mixed-use project to a vacant lot in Mesa near Crismon Road and the U.S. 60, following a trend of increased development activity around the east Valley.

Both a Hampton Inn hotel and an unidentified retailer are awaiting zoning approval from the city of Mesa before beginning development in east Mesa. The city has seen an uptick in real estate activity of late, including separate plans for a proposed supermarket and shopping center development.

The development could eventually include a retail establishment, three restaurants, the 125-unit hotel and a six-building office complex for both traditional and medical offices. In total, the proposed development will be 147,658 square feet.
