State Sen. Frank Pratt described working with a committee on recent water legislation as more of a “let’s make a deal” process.
Pratt, R-Casa Grande, was one of three panelists at the monthly Pinal Partnership meeting on Friday morning who discussed the recently adopted Arizona Drought Contingency Plan. The other two panelists included state Rep. David Cook, R-Globe, and Bret Esslin from the Arizona Department of Water Resources.
“The big bill this year was the DCP,” Pratt said. “That had both good and bad issues for Pinal County. We’ve lost some ground in some areas, particularly with the ag group, but we have good staff working together and I think we did the best that we could do for Pinal County. We didn’t get everything we wanted, but the reality was that we put together the best package that we had available to us.”
