Fast and Faster
The All New Bulleit Bourbon Derby DayClub: Bubbles & Betting, produced by The Bentley Scottsdale Polo Championships, is almost here! It’s Arizona’s only Kentucky Derby party with live racing, betting, DJs, and a polo party-style tent. It takes place on May 4th at Turf Paradise in Phoenix.
The Speed
The Kentucky Derby, or “Run For The Roses”, is just over a mile long and finishes in typically just over two minutes. The current Kentucky Derby record is held by the greatest thoroughbred of all time, Secretariat, who ran the full race at 1:59 in 1973. In the sport where winning by a nose means everything, it comes as no surprise that the slowest finisher of the Derby was Stone Street in 1908 clocking in at 2:15. That’s right; there’s only a span of 16 seconds between the fastest and slowest race ever run at the Kentucky Derby. Now that’s speed!
Tickets for an Arizona Kentucky Derby party like no other also run out fast so be sure to get yours before they’re all gone. Reserved third row tables are already sold out. Options from reserved tables to general admission are available now. For more information about the event, check us out here.
