City of Maricopa Draft Infrastructure Improvements Plan, Land Use Assumptions and Development Fees Report

Notice of Intent to Assess Development Fees

The City of Maricopa is in the process of adopting the proposed Development Fees included in the Draft Infrastructure Improvements Plan, Land Use Assumptions and Development Fees Report.  Pursuant to Arizona Revised Statutes (ARS) §9-463.05, the City must update the plan at least every five years.  TischlerBise was contracted by the City to develop the plan.  The plan is required to be posted on the City website at least 60 days prior to holding a public hearing related to the adoption of the plan.  The City held the public hearing on July 16, 2019.  The Maricopa City Council adopted the Infrastructure Improvements Plan, Land Use Assumptions and Development Fees Report on September 3, 2019.

The City of Maricopa is required per ARS §9-463.05.C to provide 30 days advance notice of intention to assess a development fee.  The proposed Development Impact Fees can be found in the Draft Infrastructure Improvements Plan, Land Use Assumptions and Development Fees Report.

Additional steps in the adoption process include holding a public hearing regarding those fees.  The scheduled date of the public hearing is October 15, 2019.  The proposed Development Impact Fees are scheduled to be adopted at the November 5, 2019, City Council meeting.  Should City Council adopt the proposed fees on November 15, 2019, the new fees will go into effect February 2, 2020.
