Peoria’s free public circulator, Peoria On the Go, or POGO, has been ushering residents from central to north Peoria and back since it launched last April.
But that’s about to change and residents will soon be able to jump on a POGO shuttle to reach expanded destinations throughout the entire city.
The route will pivot toward servicing the whole city, dropping off and picking up within five regions of the city, from as far north as Vistancia to as far south as Old Town Peoria.
Public Works Director Kevin Burke said statistical data collected over about six months — with a total ridership of 17,324 during that time — found most of POGO’s ridership occurs during the middle part of the day: 17% from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m.; 44% from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; and 37% from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
