Time machines aren’t just in movies. That is what Maricopa Mayor Christian Price displayed at this year’s State of the City.
The event Wednesday night was themed “Back to the Future.” The city pulled out all the stops to create the perfect futuristic illusion, including having Price and City Manager Rick Horst arrive to the event in a DeLorean.
But more than that was the message behind the theme. And that message was to celebrate all of Maricopa’s successes in the past 15 years, as well as look toward the future.
Price began his speech by talking about roads. Primarily, he talked about State Route 347, and all the work it took to get to the point it is now. He also talked about future improvements to the road that will happen because voters approved Propositions 416 and 417.
