What did you do yesterday? Auggie Gomez, McRae Group

Augustine Gomez is a so busy he’s able to get work done at the same time in two different time zones.

Auggie Gomez is a principal and co-CEO at the McRae Group of Companies in Scottsdale.  The McRae Group has more than 130 properties in its portfolio across four states. Gomez and the McCrae team have more than $1 billion transactions under their belts.

Gomez documented his day for us including a frequent business traveler’s special — getting work done at 6 p.m. both in Dallas and then Phoenix followed by piggyback business trip to Denver.

6 p.m. (Dallas Time):  Fly back from Dallas to Phoenix (in Dallas for commercial projects) -Use flight time to respond to emails and prepare for trip to Denver the following day.

6 p.m. (Arizona Time):  Arrive in Phoenix.

7 p.m.:  Have dinner and watch Game of Thrones (recorded) with my girlfriend.

9:30 p.m.: Head to bed.

3:30 a.m.: Alarm.

4:30 a.m.:  Drive to airport.

6 a.m.: Fly to Denver (flight is delayed).  Use time to answer emails.

9 a.m.:  Pick up rental car (scheduled for 8:30AM pickup).

10 a.m.:  Meet with the City and local counsel (in Downtown) to finalize Annexation Agreement for highway commercial project. I’m late for the meeting so I begin the meeting over the phone will driving from DIA to Downtown.

10:30 a.m.:  Hangup phone. Physically arrive to meeting.

Noon:  Lunch with local project manager to discuss existing project and possible acquisition of adjacent property.

1 p.m.: Meet with local brokers to discuss market activity and new opportunities.

Meeting runs long.  Brokers kindly loan me their conference room for meeting at 4PM.

3 p.m.: Find coffee shop in building lobby to answer emails and make phone calls.

4 p.m.: Meeting in brokers’ conference room with attorneys and consultants to discuss Metro District financing and commence Metro District formation.

5:30 p.m.: Drive to Airport.

6:15 p.m.: Dropoff rental car.

7:30 p.m.:  Fly from Denver back to Phoenix, responding to emails on flight.

9:30 p.m.: Arrive in Phoenix.

10 p.m.:  Arrive home. Too late for dinner.

11 p.m.: Head to bed.
