As another election year looms on the horizon across the nation, local campaigns are also in full swing. Running for re-election is Mayor Christian Price, who is hoping for a third term.
The mayor will have held the position for eight years come 2020, and he’s banking on another four, mainly because he just doesn’t feel done working for Maricopans yet.
“I think that for me, there’s a lot of things that aren’t done yet. One of the things that I’ve learned in this job is that, for as fast as I can sprint and as fast as I can run, I don’t get to control everything,” Price said. “If the people will have me, I’m not done working for them. I’ve established these relationships that I’ve worked so hard on and now we’re starting to see those fruits bear out. I don’t want to let that all go, because that changeover can cause a real problem.”
