Tributes pour in after death of former CG Mayor Mitchell

CASA GRANDE — The death of former Casa Grande Mayor Bob Mitchell after a short illness has brought a steady flow of heartfelt tributes from local government officials and the general community.

Current Mayor Craig McFarland said, “Our community has lost a valuable leader in former Mayor Bob Mitchell. Bob had a real heart for people and will be dearly missed by many.”

City Manager Larry Rains was glowing in his praise of Mitchell. “He was a unique man and had a passion for the local community and for public policies that would be of benefit to the people of Casa Grande. For me personally, he was of great assistance when I first came to the city. He was a mentor and a leader.”
