Giant downtown Scottsdale redevelopment moves forward

By Mike Sunnucks | Rose Law Group Reporter

The Scottsdale Planning & Zoning Commission has approved plans for a large, new redevelopment project in downtown Scottsdale.

The commission approved plans for The Scottsdale Collection. The redevelopment is proposed by Shawn and Steven Yari and Stockdale Capital Partners for properties they own east of Scottsdale Road and south of Camelback Road.

Plans call for new public art spaces, new hotel, residential and office space to replace existing bars and clubs

The goal is to bring new uses and mature Scottsdale’s Entertainment District.

The $450 million redevelopment plans require some rezoning and other approvals from the city of Scottsdale.

The Yaris and Stockdale also own the Scottsdale Galleria offices, W Hotel and other downtown properties.

The Planning & Zoning Commission approved zoning district map amendments and other zoning changes requests by the developers at its meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 18.
