Scottsdale could hire outside consultant to look at Experience Scottsdale contract

By Mike Sunnucks | Rose Law Group Reporter

The City of Scottsdale could hire an outside consultant to look at the city’s contract with Experience Scottsdale.

Experience Scottsdale is an outside nonprofit that promotes tourism to Scottsdale and Paradise Valley.

Scottsdale’s current “five-year destination marketing agreement” with Experience Scottsdale is set to expire June 30, 2022.  It can be extended another five years.

The Scottsdale City Council and city staff will discuss whether to spend as much as $25,000 to hire an outside  consultant to look at the city’s contract with Experience Scottsdale and to recommend any changes or improvements.

The item is on the council’s meeting agenda for Tuesday, May 11.

The city funds its Experience Scottsdale contract via tourism tax revenue.
